I don't doubt the benefits of CDMA but my daily experience with GSM1800 in and around London and in the south of England is very different from yours.

I note your confidence in GSM.

How would you like to to agree to pay me and a whole bunch of my colleagues 10c (even 5c) for every call that we make that gets cut off. Limited only to London in fact north of the Thames to a distance of say 12 miles from Traflagar Sq.

Strictly by reference to phone bills of course.
