Herc,
I noticed you have mentioned MS Investor a few times. I use it to, but it runs via Java technology. Not the CTXS version of thin-client technology.

Yes the data can be stored on MSFT servers, but it's not mandatory to run MS Investor using their servers to store your personal database. But even when you do elect to store your database on their server, you aren't actually using it for processing.

Just price updates are read from it and then the info is downloaded to your desktop. In other words, it's not screen refreshes (a la Citrix) that is sent to you. When you close out your portfolio, it updates the server at that time only (if you chose that option).

I could be wrong. If you know otherwise, please point me in the right direction. I think it would be great if I was using MetaFrame and didn't know it!

PS MS Investor is a fantastic way to track portfolios. Best I've found on the net. I used to pay for it, but now it's free to use. And it is somewhat unrealiable as you say. It used to be great when it was a pay service. Now I believe it's swamped with requests.
