Hi, I am a new Wi-LAN investor since last week.

It took me 2 weeks, I have read the more than 1000 posts and finally pulled the trigger. As you can see I am from Europe, Wi-LAN is definitely getting noticed here too.

The thoughts behind my decision is because IMHO I believe that the VOFDM coalition, leadered by CSCO, has all the economic incentives to come to an arrangement with Wi-LAN.

1) If I where a member of said coalition I wouldnït like to make big $$$ investments with the uncertainty that there are important patent issues pending. Other members will put peer pressure to CSCO to come to terms with Wi-LAN and eliminate such uncertainty.

2) Wireless competes with other last mile technologies. Time to market is essential! W-OFDM has a precious time advantage over VOFDM that the coalition should like to exploit against other last mile technologies (and get revenues sooner). This would put further pressure on CSCO to negociate. ( I havenït considered WOFDM merits over VOFDM, because this subject is not very clear to me yet).

I believe that these reasons should give Wi-LAN a strong negociating position against CSCO that will benefit us all.

If CSCO doesnït come to terms, then the coalition should feel insecure and a "divide and conquer" strategy may be appropriate for Wi-LAN with the rest of the members.

All this,just IMHO

Warm regards
