what I've been suggesting is simply a cap on the # of IPOs that one account should be allowed in a given time period..

I think 2 in a week is rather fair... after all, most of us are going weeks and months without getting anything..

they need to figure out some kind of logic so that their
random generator isn't so random that it keeps missing some poor guy like me for 3 years spanning over hundreds of IPOs while my buddy next to me gets every other IPO he asks for.
I think we're making progress.. but they need to make one more slight change in the process

agreed marshall, at least this way we are in the game...the only way to be fair would be to take turns allocating to everyone that ioi's, thus taking our chances down to 1 in every 30-50 ipos...i certainly would not favor this...but i am jaded cause i seem to be receiving just as many ipo's now when compared to before when it was fcfs...bottom line is, i am very grateful to etrade for giving me the oppurtunity that i would not have otherwise had...they kept me afloat while i was learning the ipo aftermkt. game...the free money they have showered me with has been rolled into very large gains and this would not have been possible with the other major brokers(although ML did give me a few measily shares of ntro,nxtv,fnsr)...most of us have made money from etrades ipo's whether it was from 1 or 50 and this is something u wouldnt have otherwise had...etrade does have its problems but for the mostpart, they are reasonable(although their fills stink<gg>)...jmho's of course.
