Thread,

Anyone here daytrading the QQQ regularly? It normally has 1/4 point spread (usually less) and the liquidity is great (normally the specialist will bid and offer 25,000). I have noticed that the Nasdaq usually makes at least one good move per day (normally at least 2 points). Another nice feature is that it's exempt from the short sale rule meaning that one can short it on a downtick.

Another instrument that I have been watching lately is the HHH which is the Merril Lynch Internet basket. It normally has a 3/8 spread but usually moves about 2x as much as the QQQ. Keep in mind that you can split the spread on these but you are not guaranteed to get your fill.

Anyone?

Leland
