Paul, <their E2K chip runs several times faster than a chip in development by Intel Corp (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) and could roll off assembly lines in three years if they can secure funding.>

I have a hunch that the chips rolling off of Intel's assembly lines three years from now will be several times faster than Intel's current offerings.

But then again, that might be just the irrational Intel-a-bee in me. (jajaja)

Paul, obviously AMD is able to deliver 750mhz Athlons to Compaq in enough volume to virtually guarantee a 3 week lead time for Presario systems.

I was wondering if it's possible for AMD to manufacture these chips on the .25um process or if they need the .18um process to get to this speed.

If AMD is yielding .18um 750mhz Athlons in enough volume to satisfy a major OEM like Compaq with a guaranteed delivery date then I'm impressed! I believe a major OEM like Compaq isn't stupid enough to get burned by another AMD production SNAFU.

In your opinion, do you believe these Athlons are .18um or .25um.

If they're .18 then I'll be watching AMD even more closely. I've got too much in Intel to take any competitor lightly.

Looking forward to what you think,

Doug

>>Elbrus engineers say their chip, based on ones developed by the same team for the Soviet Union's military complex, will be fast and cheap, though a factory might cost well over a billion dollars to build<<

Although I am limited in what I can tell you, pursuant to the Covenant Non Disclosure Agreement, I can tell you that the new process does not involve silicon, nor as you might have guessed, gallium arsenide; this is all I can say: It involves .001 Micron Lazer Technology and Cooked Borsht.

I can say no more. Perhaps I've said to much.

Say, I wonder if these guys know those two stockbrokers from New Jersey. :)))
