>>(soon to be Joe Paterno Stadium, I reckon).<<

Agree.

>> As far as the Alamo, maybe
Joe felt we couldn't beat anyone in the SE conference - with PSU, Minn.,
and Purdue all announcing the same day, I'm sure this whole scenario was
orchestrated by the Big Ten & the coaches. <<

Also agree plus since we were at Outback last year and didn't travel well, Alamo was the best we were going to do.

>>"I don't know if [the end of the New Year's Day streak] is a
disappointment or not," Paterno said. "Maybe sometimes it is better to
do something a little different every so often. The kids may be
disappointed at first, but I'm sure once they get down to San Antonio
and see what a great city it is and realize how tough our competition is
going to be, they'll get themselves ready to play."<<

Is this Bill Clinton talking? This is an insult to the fans IMO. It is to me anyway. Can you imagine Lloyd Carr saying this?

>>"For one, I didn't have a chance to talk to my players because they are
all on [Thanksgiving] break," Paterno said. "And truthfully, before they
left I didn't get a sense that any of them didn't want to play in a
bowl. This is a great opportunity for them to get to see a part of the
country most of them have probably never been to. Plus this is a great
group of seniors who deserve a chance to end their career on a high."<<

didn't tell em he was lining them up for a loss they weren't interested in? HO HO. Like they had a say in the matter.

I hate saying this but if Nebraska didn't fumble the ball so much, they are definitely NC material. They are big, fast and tough.

They could take FSU pretty easy in my opinion if they didn't fumble.
