Jim: Appreciate your posts, and your balanced view.If I was negotiating with Cisco I would keep up the pressure and have a parallel stratergy, like going ahead with the OFDM meeting.Who better to hold it than WiLan? Certainly not Cisco mutual fund, who had to go out and buy yet another technology to join the OFDM crowd. I think Cisco will be well advised to play fair and pay heed to MSFT's trouble with the Justice Dept. I will refer you to Forbes Nov 29, Page 54: where they suggest that Cisco may have "encouraged" IBM to quit the Networking business. The magazine considers Cisco to be a potential candidate for some eyeballing by DOJ.
Contrary to Mr. E's opinion I read a lot into WiLan holding a OFDM meeting in Cisco's backyard.

Hello Jim & Rehan, Jim I have to disagree with your post, this meeting is very significant & important IMO. This is not just between WIN & CSCO. This is potentially a world wide standard we are talking about here. Rehan you are right IMO. The world and the companies involved would be better served to work together to perfect the technology & speed up the process of getting it to market. This will be one hell of a big pie with lots of slices to go around. I believe they will cut the crap and just get on with it. A WIN-WIN situation (pun intended). LOL WIN will contribute their IP & sign many licensing agreements and live happily ever after. IMO the downside risk here is getting smaller all the time. Just my wild thoughts. Jim you need to stay away from that last mile thread as I have started to do. JMHO. Cheers!!!

Jim,

I am very amused by the remark from Peter E about the "free lunch." I guess at our new share price, we can afford to show some hospitality to our guests. LOL.
