Existing Home Sales for Oct. = -6.6% to 4.79m units

The association reported a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.79 million units, 6.6 percent below the September rate of 5.13 million units. The October 1999 sales pace was 3.0 percent below the level set in October of 1998, which was 4.94 million units.
