D.LU,

I haven't a clue. I've got to assume that the runup is occurring due to news leaks. Today was not just a short trading day, but a lot of people simply didn't come in so the heavy trading volume is surprising.

It seems clear that *someone* is accumulating; I sincerely doubt this is a lot of individual investors.

A possible explanation for the late explosion is that the accumulation is coming from a West Coast entity.

I'd be tempted to get up really early and watch the action first thing Monday morning, but I probably won't. I have to exercise all of my warrants next week since I'm going to be out of the country when the offer expires. Besides, LGND is sufficiently erratic that Monday morning may be rather quiet.

Thanks, Torben
