Brian,

How can you be sure your interpretation of the Bible is correct, when 2,000 years of scrutiny leaves humanity not one iota closer to a consensus?

We have millenia of study by generation upon generation of good Christians, who scour the Bible looking for insight into a clear translation that is beyond repute and acceptable to all good Christians. So far that translation that is agreeable in its entirety has escaped Christian humanity.

So, either the problem is one of the following.

1. God was a poor comunicator, unable to render coherency upon his targeted audience.

2. The Bible is not meant to be taken literally

3. The Bible is not God's word.

Mark

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator,
who is blessed for ever. Amen.

2 Peter 2:12 But these,
as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed,
speak evil of the things that they understand not;
and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

Phil 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping,
that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly,
and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

tsk tsk

I still say, "angel with two hands better than angel with two wings." I'm sure there are even many Christian men who know this but their "faith" prevents them from saying it out loud.

In the end though it is the physical which must be gotten past.
