Carnegie Investment raises bid for stake in Mattel
PHILADELPHIA, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Money manager Carnegie Investment Management Ltd. said on Monday it had increased its bid for a 3 percent stake in Mattel Inc. (NYSE:MAT - news) to $15.75 a share from $14.35.

Carnegie announced a tender offer for 11.34 million Mattel shares on Nov. 1, when the shares were trading at $13.50. The shares were above $20 for much of the year until the toymaker issued a profit warning in September.

Mattel shares closed at 15-3/16 on Friday. The maker of Barbie and Hot Wheels toys had about 429.5 million fully diluted shares outstanding during the third quarter.

Mattel shares slumped after the company missed profit targets and suffered losses in its Learning Co. software business.

Other terms of the Carnegie tender offer remain unchanged. Carnegie said it may buy up to 18.9 million shares if more than 11.34 million shares are received in the tender.

They will need to go much higher to get my shares but should help to keep prices in 15+ level
