Too bad we can't post those nice tables here:
suite101.com

My question would be:
"Has Agilent sold off or shut down all the under
performing businesses?"

Maybe we can name them along with the dates they were
shut down and the revenue and income(loss) each generated.

Here is a small list from memory:

Business Date Closed Revenue Earnings
Disk Drive Business $500M? $0
Microprocessors 1998? -$200M??
->(loss leader to help Workstation biz look good)
Avantek/CMCD 1998

I am not sure we can get a clear picture as so many internal
changes occured at HWP to lower the overall cost structure.

The real issue is the biz the different product lines are
in NOW and what sort of growth will they see going forward?

I see more and more H-P PC's come Standard with CD-RW drives. Does anyone one this board have any insight as to when or if H-P may Standardize CD-RW drives across their entire home desktop line?
In this CNet article, it mentions that Compaq and H-P are locked in a battle and using CD-RW as a selling point in their PC's:

Thanks for any insight.
