Smack in Ballard land: DJ DaimlerChrysler Unit Using FuelCell Energy Tech NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--DaimlerChrysler AG's (DCX) MTU Friedrichshafen unit started operating a "hot module" fuel cell power plant using FuelCell Energy Inc.'s (FCL) Direct FuelCell technology. A hot module is a central steel tank with a stack of fuel cells. In a press release Monday, FuelCell Energy said the test facility will provide the Bielefeld, Germany, municipal power utility with 250 kilowatts of electricity and byproduct heat while emitting only water, carbon dioxide and traces of nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide. Shares of FuelCell Energy, a Danbury, Conn., company that develops electrochemical technologies, closed Monday at 24 1/8, up 1 7/8, or 8.4%, on composite volume of 23,000. Average daily volume is 20,706.
