The CPQ website, from what I understand, will be glad to accommodate you. Make no mistake the 750 Athlon is not vaporware like some other well known chips. And the 1 G Athlon, coming out on 10 January, 2000, will not be vaporware either.

GV, tejek, I hadn't heard that, thanks for letting me know. Could you direct me to a location where I could buy an AMD based computer that contains 'THE FASTEST CHIP IN ALL THE LAND'? He means the 750 MHz Athlon, of course. Until benchmarks come out that show that (and they may be all over the AMD thread, if one wanted to take the time to go through the "euphorics" in the huge amount of posts over there) that's not clear. This is because the 750 Athlon has problems performance scaling with the off die L2 cache, and may not be much faster than the 700. Still, looks like it's one of those "AMD is going to kill Intel" periods, stock wise. GV, what's the scuttlebutt that you see as holding INTC back these days? Is it the AMD thing? Thanks, Tony
