>> Can programs be shared on local network ...

Sadly the answer is not simple; there are too many variables
to give a pat answer.

Some definitely can; some can't under any practical circumstances; and some can but it's iffy if they're worth the trouble.

The only effective way to find out is to try. Normally to have a chance of making it work you have to install the application on both computers, but on the second one you share a network drive and install it back to it's original location on its home computer.

This probably sounds like gobbledygook, but network your computers and work with shared drives a while and it will be more clear.

As to programs with massive CD-based components, the answer is more or less the same - some can, some can't. Usually the best approach (least trouble prone) is to install the software separately on both machines but use the CD over the network.

There are many exceptions to everything I've said. First, network the pcs and get familiar with them, then tackle this is my best advice.

TA, i cannot do it with my setup. Have TC2000 on HIZZ,
#1 puter, Can load program and all files on HERZZ,
#2 puter, but when trying to Open I get error message #75, (Files
missing to transfer program). Have enabled File Sharing and anything
I can think of but NO GO.

Spots probably has correct answer. maybe have Program on HERZZ
Download daily to each machine, but then you would need a second CD for #2 puter.

Dunno', regards, /jw

ps: i don't have enough HD space to load on HERZZ so will
have to pass. Maybe take the CD and load it with Setup on second machine if you have space and switch CD to either machine?
