Mark, Your dilemma is caused because you do not have the one thing that is necessary for faith. You have to realize that God is sovereign. A sovereign God has all authority over his creation because he is the author(authority) of all life down to the smallest molecule. If you deny this then God is not sovereign and life is on a ship without a rudder because even a stray molecule could cause God to be a failure if he is not in control of that molecule.
Why did God permit Adam and Eve to sin? More than that, why did he permit satan to sin? No one has been able to answer that question why our perfect God allowed his perfect creation to sin but since he did allow it, God must have had a reason for it.
There is no evil in our God, only love and justice. Another unanswered question. Why didn't God decide to save everybody? Since he knows what we will be before we are born, I only can suggest that as the Bible indicates, we are all born dead in sin, but he chooses who he will save because he has a perfect right to. Those that are not part of the election that he does not choose will only be receiving justice.
There are many mysteries and some seeming contradictions and paradoxes found in the Bible but once again God is sovereign.

Santiago

I know that I am God's creation, and I have perfect freedom, but I have to defer to my God because he has more perfect freedom because he is my creator.

Each finds scripture to support their opinions. And ignores or explains away the scripture which conflicts. On the subject of Calvinism and it's opposite doctrine Arminianism, there are verses which clearly support both views. Some of them are found in the same books of the Bible. So which is genuinely Biblical? Both apparently. Perhaps the authors of the New Testament weren't very concerned with questions of free will vs predestination.

The subject of Biblical prophecy is another area where one can find at least a small amount of support for varying doctrines - dispensationalism, pre-mil & post-mil, even preterism.
