qwik your star office analysis recalls what redback networks ceo, who just laid down $4.3 billion for a group of engineers who are, as we speak, "planning" what products to develop, must have said at the conference table. "I'll bet whatever they come up with will be killer!" That's NOT a bubble, is it qwik?

Your language in this analysis assumes some leaps of faith. for example, star office developers have let the mac version badly "lag" but it will be a "clear no brainer" for higher ed once that mac version is out. do you think this stuff just appears by majic? <g> Somehow, I think "clear no brainers" should be reserved for functioning, released product. but that's just silly me talking.

don't forget, this thing is a massive resource drain since it brings in NO revenue.

your qwikness, you do like to put the cart BEFORE the horse, don't you?

Obviously, a huge money maker for free.<G>

So the strategy is to give away the software and charge the customer twice as much for the server. I wonder how that will play in Peoria??
