I checked with Omnipoint before a September trip to France and the Motorola L7089 had not yet been received for integration testing. I had planned to retire my 2 year old (very good) Bosch in favor of the Motorola, although I've had good feedback on the Ericcson unit as well. I think you'll be very happy with the convenience of a tri-mode tri-band GSM phone when traveling in GSM land. The Motorola unit I am waiting to see introduced in the US is the dual slot model. << I rarely use land lines so extra wireless ones are handy >> You'll fit in well with the GSMers.
