brees, one can judge behaviors, exact penalties when necessary, and still forgive. To try to comprehend what would drive a person to do something evil is not to turn one's back on the evil.

But how can the dead show remorse?

If you are going to assert that it is faddish pop culture causing the wave of forgiveness in Columbine, then you are in essence criticizing the Christian churches all these people belong to there. If you watched the ministers speak during the televised funerals who would have noticed that the message of forgiveness was coming from them.

So perhaps you should blame Christian beliefs rather than pop culture for this phenomenon.
