I know I am presenting a politically incorrect and illegal argument Michael. I said that, there is no question about it. But your dismissal of the issue is pretty meaningless, and you appear to be trying to change the subject.

What does Japan or other asian countries have to do with underperformance here? Do you think somebody who gets passed over for a promotion cares about what goes on in Japan?

Also I am not arguing in favor of quotas to benefit other (non-asian) groups, that is key to my point. I am saying (top) academic resources are wasted because we fill them with people that only know how to be book-smart. I don't care who the group is. If women were filling up the schools and never made it in business I would say diversify the schools with men so women could learn how to be more like men (in business). I would not say "hey - the Israeli army includes women in combat"... because that would be irrelevant, right?
