RESEARCH ALERT-MCI WorldCom revenue growth trimmed

NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers said on Thursday it trimmed its revenue forecast for the fourth quarter and 2000 for MCI WorldCom Inc. to reflect the company's ''continued aggressiveness in the voice market.''

-- said cut the fourth quarter revenue growth forecast to 15 percent from 16.1 percent and cut the 2000 growth forecast to 14.8 percent from 16.2 percent.

-- said reiterated a buy rating on the stock and did not change its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) or earnings expectations since it expects MCI WorldCom to show stronger-than-expected cost synergies.

-- said key to MCI WorldCom's growth are its data, international and Internet businesses, not its voice business. The fast-growing businesses are seen generating more than 70 percent of the company's growth in 1999 and almost 90 percent in
2000.

-- shares of MCI WorldCom fell in heavy trading on Wednesday amid market rumors of slower-than-expected revenue growth.
