DownSouth: As you know, JDSU is my "One King" in my three company Gorilla Game on the G&K thread. So I find myself in a difficult position when it comes to discussing JDSU's gorilla like characteristics. Would hate to lose the strongest king I have seen in years from my game simply because it is no longer a "king".

Since Qualcomm is the gorilla in that game, there is no way - no way - I would displace the Q for any stock - even JDSU which I consider the second strongest stock I own - regardless of its "label".

And no way do I see any reason to sell either for a minimum of 3 years - unless there is some disaster in the fundamentals of either.

But I find myself thinking that in the real world the barriers to entry for any company attempting an effective and successful challenge to JDSU's dominent position in the exploding fiberoptics component equipment supply field, makes holding JDSU "lightly" an absurdity. Sure its OK if "lightly" means "tightly" but I agree with Pat Mudge (who has my very deep respect for her savvy BTW) that JDSU is such a strong holding that if the mantras of the GG are being used at all, then a common sense interpretation would seem more sensible than rigid application.

Chaz a.k.a. Cha2 on the G&K.
