This is what I am saying... Many people whom you count as a 'vote' for the 'poorly written argument' are not even saved individuals. Some of whom will even admit to others that they are not saved and yet others will not know until the Day of Judgement. You continue to argue that EITHER 1. The Bible is written poorly or in such hidden script that even the most devout cannot understand it. OR 2. That the Entire Bible is not to be taken literally at any point. You are asking me to choose whether the Bible is poorly written or wether the Bible is poorly written. Do you not see why I have a hard time believing you are actually being honest about this stuff ? Yes I and every Christian I know will tell you that the Bible is written to confound the unsaved! In fact God has told us that this is the way His children can tell who is or is not approved to teach ! If there was not definite meaning then no man could be tested as to orthodox doctrine. Look: 1 Corinthians 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. The inability to understand scripture is God's gift to His son's so that they can recognize each other and who is not of them. You are not of us therefore the world hears you.. we are not of this world therefore we hear each other. How many people do you know that would suggest the 10 commandments are figurative ? Not even the unsaved are that foolish. Why do you persist in putting forth the proposition that the Bible must either be entirely literal or entirely not literal ? YOu don't operate in that realm no one does. Some will grow out of it some never will, many will choose a comfort zone and stay there. Those who are the saved and continue will know the truth Jesus spoke this to the religious leaders of the day ! John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Disciples indeed know which verses are literal and which are not. Which verse are you having trouble with Mark :-} Is this literal: Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Some things are basic and easy to understand some things are more hidden and savoured only by the diligent workmen after years of growth. The "thief on the cross" did not have a Masters in Theology but he knew enough to be saved. The Bible is the Word of God the problem is not with the Bible the problem is with Man!

Mark, I just got to tell you, man. Many of these theological differences is because of pre-conceived teaching by religious people that would rather stay blinded by these heresies and follow their church tradition rather than the plain word of the Bible. Most church members, if there particular traditions disagree with the word of the Lord, will teach the heresies of their particular religion rather then ruffle the founders and elders of their church! The preacher wants to keep his job. He wants to be well liked and respected by the members. He wants his paycheck to go on and not be interrupted. Look at what Paul tells the Corinthians. They were one of the most sinful church group he met. If someone calls you a Corinthianizer that is bad news! "12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Hebrews 5 "2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." 1 Cor 3 It has been this way always, Mark. Ego infested people want to work out there salvation by there own efforts. That is Judiasm! Brian thinks enough of you to tell you the honest truth. Yet you have no appreciation for the truth! I do hope that you lose that ego, self confident manner. Only then can you be made ready to receive the Gospel. Santiago
