IBM (NYSE: IBM) said it has not yet shipped a PC using the latest version of the Pentium III, known as Coppermine, but the decision was not related to the chip problem.

An IBM spokesman said he was not yet aware if the company was testing the chip.

"We're working with Intel to get Coppermine up and running, but so far we haven't shipped Coppermine in any IBM products," said IBM spokesman Ray Gorman Thursday morning.

Coppermine is the latest version of Intel's (Nasdaq: INTC) Pentium III, launched Oct. 25, with speeds of up to 733MHz.

Hi Joseph:

Do you really believe that the "here and now" profit/loss contribution of the Athlon division is a relevant indicator as to the present value of discounted anticipated future cash flows of the "Athlon" division?

Re:"the only "here and now" profitability (:-) of amd I am aware of is the $100M cash bleed PER QUARTER."

Joe,

Since engel is not around I guess someone has to beat that dead horse.

It might as well be you.
