One of your many problems Rose is that you like to incessantly b*tch and moan and spout your conspiracy theories....

However, I have YET to see you offer any information on how you would handle such a situation as the Seattle riots?

Just where exactly do the hooligan's rights end and the rest of society's rights begin?? You make the call, Rose... Tell us all how you would have handled this...

Consider it a challenge.

People like yourself continue to view the "government" as some form of monolithic machine, rather than a system that is led by human beings making human decisions under extreme political pressure from other humans.......

....and making human mistakes.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that there are so many different groups supposedly bent upon "ruling the world" that they would obviously cancel each out. Whether it be the Jewish conspiracy, the Catholic conspiracy (including the Jesuits), the Masonic conspiracy, the Gnomes of Zurich,....etc.. etc.. etc.

In the end, it is how people manage themselves and act in a rational manner that guarantees the preservation of our rights. Then minute that a minority is permitted to create and maintain the chaotic and violent conditions where the majority clamor for order at any cost, that is when we find ourselves on the road to tyranny.

That is why people should fear terrorist activities, especially domestic terrorism, more than anything. Because it results in the over-reaction of government officials to preserve order.

The best avenue of protest is one that is peaceful, uses the channels that they system provides for, and can build a mass concensus.

That was the lesson of the '60s... working within the system can accomplish far more than outside of it.

Btw, when international events such as the WTO meetings are held, it is COMMON practice for the military to provide support to civilian agencies. After all, they are the ones who deal with and understand the international terrorist threats, not the local police or FBI. And they have the equipment, resources, and methods to deal with it.

The WTO meeting was/is an international event, potentially drawing a international terrorist threat. That alone justifies the use of Federal Military assets in a support role.

Posse Comitatus absolutely provides the military the right to train and support law enforcement agencies. It does permit them to engage in law enforcement activity, nor provide them the powers of arrest (except Military police and/or Special Agents).
