IMO, it was bad policy to enter Kosovo. However, once there we had to finish the job we started and reach some passable level of tranquility there to avoid an implication to our national security interests. Leaving there with the job undone would have been far worse than finishing what should never have been started in the first place. It would have made the US look even more feckless than the past seven years already have from a foreign policy standpoint. In the case of Kosovo, Bubba's blunder in entering the region necessitated the result achieved so as to avoid further damage to US national security interests. JLA
