Well, this is actually pretty simple to measure (and I assume Reginald has already done so). I'll fire up the sniffer and quantify the traffic pattern of one or more of these sites ... so that we can compare them to other applications meaningfully.

Last year saw over 130 billion dollars of investment into this infrastructure. Where there is that much money, there is bound to be result.
