Congratulations! Sounds like a major victory.

I'm sorry you agreed not to do it again, because BW deserves to have it done to them over and over until they start taking responsibility for what they publish. But I look forward eagerly to April 1, 2000. I'm sure now that your energy is no longer centered on BW, you will be able to dream up something even better than ever before.

Congratulations on ending this colossal waste of time and money. I said it once and I'll say it again: Bidness Wire should be ashamed of its actions in this matter. A large company should not sue individuals over being embarrassed. Especially when is embarrassed for conduct that it regularly condones with other parties. Shame on you Business Wire, your conduct is deplorable.

Most importantly, Mag Diary can now get onto more important matters: There are less than four months to come up with a gag to top last years'. Best of luck.

I am well and truly pleased that this episode is over for you. You have my heartfelt congratulations.

I presume that YOU signed a general release as well, so that you could not go after them on this issue at any point in the future? Pity... If certain transactions were to complete successfully for me, I was contemplating just such a pursuit.

In any event, under the present circumstances, you have succeeded quite well, can get back to your lives.

I would wish for you the warrior's "Confusion to your enemies", but I see from the AZNT thread this is not necessary.<g>

My best to you, as always.

Lastly, we'd like to thank Business Wire. Had they not sued us, Webnode would have been a long forgotten thread on SI.

I don't think so. Many of us remember Techniclone fondly. Anyway, congratulations to the three of you for removing this monkey from your back.

despite all the "fun" you seem to have had. :-)

Congratulations to the Webnode 3 on your great victory. It's a shame you didn't have some deep pockets behind you so that the case could have been pursued. IMO Business Wire should have had to pay for bringing that slapp suit and I feel confident that you would have won a total victory if you had had the money to countersue.

Perhaps one of the best things to come out of this is that now people don't just automatically believe all of the pr's put out. I hope it hurt their business.

Shame on you business wire, I will never have any respect for you again.

Congratulations to the WebNode Three!

"Besides, what this country really needs is a federal version of the anti-SLAPP provision."

We need to go much farther. It's a violation of an individual's right to due process to allow one's accusers to hide beyond the corporate veil. Corporations should never be allowed to directly sue individuals.

To permit corporation entities to claim equal rights with individuals is to mock the constitution's intent. Business Wire's spurious lawsuit is an example: The individuals were immediately confronted with punitive consequences, long before any day in court. Meanwhile the actual protagonists were shielded from all financial liabilities because they were allowed the use of corporate resources in the pursuit of "justice". You can be sure: If that humorless group of BW executives had to put their own personal capital at risk, the lawsuit would have never taken place.

WTG Webnode 3!! I was hoping Biznit Wankers would have to pony up some $$, but, as Lenny Bruce said, "In the halls of justice, the only justice is in the halls."

A special tip of the hat to attys William Crockett and Bruce Methven. Thank you for defending Freedom of Speech.

Excellent!

Do the terms of settlement prevent you from writing letters to the CEO's and PR departments of the Fortune 500, outlining why they should not do business with BW? Just thinking out loud here.
