I'm sure that Hatim doesn't need anyone else to defend his posting on this thread, however I strongly disagree with your contentions. It seems to me that Hatim has enriched all shareholders and prospective shareholders by his sterling participation. It also seems to be a particularly wise and efficient use of resources when you consider the reach of the medium. His posts are informative, and even though his bias is disclosed, are relatively objective. I certainly consider him a much better source of information on WIN than a Cisco executive posting his "objectivity" without full disclosure of his Cisco position. Hatim, your efforts to inform us are commendable. Please continue.

I like the fact that a president is open with shareholders and SI posters. Communication of a company's vision and obstacles is always difficult as it passes through many layers of handling. His posts are recorded in history for all to judge in the future. I deal with many out of touch managers and company presidents on employee/management issues. Communication failure is often the culprit. I don't see it happening in Wi-lan.

Czar,

Thanks for your concern. I am on the net to learn more than to teach. I am always checking the Internet for business and I quickly scan some sights for gossip about Wi-LAN. It is a very efficient way to stay in touch with the shareholders and their concerns.

Hatim

czar64 -

Perhaps you have it backwards - the way Dr. Z. does it is right and the way others do it is wrong.

One of the great myths of our time is that CEO's are demigods, too well-paid, powerful and busy to address the concerns of lesser beings (like stockholders and employees).

The only time anyone listens to their concerns is at a sanitized and spin-doctored AGM.

Hatim's willingness to speak publicly with anyone says volumes for the man, and the managerial style of the company.

His recent posts, as informative as possible under the circumstances, have probably been a considerable relief to many who have a big investment in Wi-LAN.

And if you had reviewed the previous posts on this board, from Sans Souci and others, you would know that we understand his absences, when they happen.

Regards,

Jim

czar64, member since dec 03 1999. Now Hatim was being a pain-in-the neck on dec 02 1999, wasn't he? Your very first (and only) post was to him, we understand how you feel.
