Caxton, where have you been in the last five years, because QCOM until recently had not done things consistently right. In matters concerning 3Com and the Palm, let it be known the Palm did not become a successful monopoly until 3Com leveraged their wherewithal, R&D, engineering talent and distribution channels in the Palm's direction. Many icons of the tech. sector tried before, such as Apple and its Newton, but they failed. We all have good ideas, but without the necessary wherewithal, infrastructure and distribution channels we would find it difficult to guarantee success of any product. So don't give credit to Handspring for the success of the Palm, because until 3Com decided to allocate resources to the Palm, and you can rest assured they spent plenty, they were virtually unknown with little or no market.
