Mehrdad- What have I been doing for the last five years? DD for one. RE: your Q remark, it seems to me Q's strategy has worked flawlessly as far a cdma goes. Q never bended, stuck to their guns, and eventually won. The only folks who have got it right suddenly is the investment community. Now on to 3-COM.

I'm afraid you got it wrong. When 3-COM merged with US-Robotics they didn't even consider the implcations of getting the Palm. They lucked out. US Robotic funded the Palm division, not 3-COM. 3-COM, I REPEAT, 3-COM had nothing whatsoever to do with the Palm's success. In fact they hindered it a great deal. After the merger with U.S, Robotics, while 3-COM was trying to cut costs and restructure, they refused to give the Palm division the needed funding. The Palm heads were screaming for more money and 3-COM wouldn't give it to them. The Palm heads finally said, spin us off so we can get our own funding, or we are out of here. 3-COM refused, and tehy left and formed Handspring.

Now, 3-COM decides to spin off Palm. Too late, your leaders are gone.

One more time, 3-COM had nothing to do with the development of the Palm.

Caxton
