With all the Gateway rumors going around, I decided to give them a call myself. I told the sales rep that I wanted an Athlon system. He told me that they did not have them now, but would in the near future. I told him I needed the system by Christmas. He put me on hold to duoble check when Athlon systems would ship. When he came back on the line he told me that they would be shipping shortly after the beginning of the new year, and that the closest thing that I could get in terms of performance by Christmas was a Pentium III 700. I told him that I would have to buy from someone else. I encourage everyone to do the same, and we can compare notes to see if they have their story straight. Gateway Computer: 1-800-846-4208.
