OT. Very, very OT.

<Where I have my axe to grind is -- she assumes that they all are and, it would appear, dumps on them all automatically.>

Is it not clear that the easiest way to generate support for a play, marginal or no, is to singlemindedly point out its weakness? In its defense, a marginal property can be easily pumped by its supporters, allowing one to judge when shorting is the right side of the trade. Furthermore, is it not clear that establishing good credibility would be contrary to these intentions? The lack of credibility would further raise the volume of a defenders voice and strengthen their belief in their own judgement (perhaps they would even buy more).
Having said that, my guess is that if you tried shorting companies listed on the VSE with foreign exploration interests by using a dartboard and a monkey, one could do well at least 85% of the time, even if you didn't have Elizabeth to tell you (in her own way) when to short.

PS. I'm long SSRI - when I found out Bill Gates was with PAAS, I chose against PAAS. The Russian Mafia will do everything in their power to extort his money and destroy this company in the process. I don't know if they will be successful, but I knew that they would provide major roadblocks which would require PAAS cash to overcome. Make no mistake, the small miner which outbid PAAS did not do so with its own money, nor did it do so for its own mining interests. I will leave it to your imagination to speculate as to the measures used to obtain this money, the means used to persuade the management to put on this front, etc...

Perhaps as Claude suggested, Russia will change, but only when the Mafia learn how to make money in ways other than kidnapping, stealing, assassination, and extortion. (Perhaps they can fry chicken like I did when young).

Regards,
A.
