Joe, REAL and MERCS have similar charts. 10 day/50 day moving avg. crossovers under the 200 day moving avg. REAL's chart test comes at 4, interestingly because that is both the 200 day moving avg. and the stock's book value. MERCS has sector support. The lumber and paper stocks have been quietly moving up of late. This is a significant development because normally this is the worst time of the year for this sector.

The last stock that you mentioned, EQR, was favorably mentioned in Smart Money in Sept., however, the chart is not positive in my opinion. What's your take on EQR and in particular REITs?

Joe,

MERCS: Goooooood luck on that one. I owned it at 6!!! Finally could not take the pain any longer and dumped it. There is something goofy about that co. The FA says buy me. At the time the TA said buy me too!!! Burnt once, but never twice.
