Ok....from my first quick read it seems like Aware has set it up sort of like Qualcomm/Rambus. They are an engineering house which is looking to license its IPR for a royalty stream off of the chipset. They have licensed/partnered with 3Com, ADI, Intel, and STM (a couple of others too). A couple of questions....

-It seems like TI and Alcatel are pursuing their own proprietary solutions. Is Aware's technology any "better" than those of the competitor's? Are their any lawsuits going on?

-Does anyone know what type of royalties Aware receives? Is it a % of the cost of the chipset or on a per-unit basis?

It seems like DSL has finally come of age...I am just trying to get a handle on the market opportunity that companies like Aware have. Of course a rising tide may just lift all boats...and none of my questions may matter.
