Runner, I looked for a link but didn't find one. I set TVEyes to look for "Koskinen" in case it is rebroadcast. Sometimes these programs are rebroadcast overnight.

Yes, I inferred that he thought there was some possibility of a grid problem. He clearly said that the power was unlikely to go off as soon as January 1--not until Wednesday or Thursday.

The problem with these interviews is that they're so quick that they always leave you with more questions than answers. It's also possible, since he just finished talking about power problems in Russia and environs, that he was answering in the context of foreign power problems, not ours. My impression was that he was talking about U.S. power problems, but I couldn't be sure.
