I gleaned five things from that article, *if* the facts are
correct-- WOW---
1. The Softbank ownership has to drop to 10% before
OTS is not concerned about a foreign entity
controlling a US Thrift. I thought is was 25%
from stuff I read earlier. They own almost 28%
at the moment.
2. Softbank cannot lighten up because contractural
relationships say they have to hold all EGRP till
August 2000.
3. OTS currently considers the application incomplete
until Item #1 is straightened out.
4. It would take a minimum of 60 days AFTER Item #3 is
straightened out to proceed.
5. The Old World Gummit can't deal with the New World.

TBFC and EGRP won't merge this year, if at all. This is
bleak. So, lets blow it off and get on with it. Dave, you gotta go to meeting at end of month. Fireworks expected.
