. <<Another 6000 shares gone today, 2000 on a limit order at 97 and 4000 on a stop triggered at 96. 18000 left.>>

Watch that tax!!

I own far fewer hares than you but to sell my holding would land me with a significant capital gains tax bill here in the UK. I remain cautiously optimistic that Gates can steer himself out of this mess.

Cheers

Dear VG: One way to look at this nightmare is to view the doj providing insurance against the dreaded correction. As valuations seem to be going right to heaven, or is it the other way?, we have real earnings, real markets, real products, real partners, real services supporting our investment and the markets valuation.
Can you say the same for the alternatives and/enemies of MSFT?

I think we all feel like the government is hurting us, but how about the software partners of MSFT like INTUIT, GREAT PLAINS, SAGE and thousands of other software developers. (I know these are accountants tools of the trade).

Do you think these people are throwing in the towel? NOT!

I think this was more than laying out their positions. I believe those 19 States filed criminal antitrust charges or are about to do so.

With all those shares I don't blame you for blinking. Every dollar down, uh. It's nice though when it goes up. Robin Griffith of HSBC thinks Msft will go to 160 as soon as it clears 100. He is generally pretty conservative.

The states would like to get their hands on some of MSFT's 19B in cash. Sort of like the tobacco settlement.
The FEDS are still smarting from their last run in with MSFT and plan to get even. It should be interesting.
