Who said anything about Apache/Linux? Actually the netcraft results of Apache/Linux are not as high as you assume. Let me be very specific. You will find a HUGE number of results for Apache/SOLARIS. I use Linux. In fact, right now I'm using it twice. Once on my client (Debian) running Minicom into my shell account (running RedHat). I'm running text mode this week in solidarity with Neal Stephenson's fight with CTS. --Anyway, your thesis of Wintel or Lintel having parity with Sun is fundamentally flawed. It's the same stuff we've been reading here SINCE 1995. Forget Java hype, the real story is Solaris on Sparc. There's a reason for that. It kicks ass! It kicked SGI's ass. It kicked HP's ass. It's doing a pretty fair job kicking big IBM's ass all while being late to market with a new generation product line.--One of the great stregnths os Sparc/Solaris which you de-emphasize to the point of not mentioning it at all is 'scalability'. If you're truly here with a lantern looking for truth, you'll find it there. Think cost of people (admin). -JCJ
