What is long term capital gain taxes for states? I have
some MSFT that I want to dispose off. Federal tax is 20%
(for 2 years holding) and CA state tax for LT cap gain
- what is the rate? Anyone know?

VG: Then you should have acted when one of our number suggested SUNW at 90 something back when the judge first spoke. Whoever it was made a good call for those willing to switch. Now you would be better advised to hang tough as this is a MSFT victory from here for 2 reasons. 1.They will not settle to their harm. 2. The DOJ and the Judge will lose on Appeal. I think the only thing that is hurting them today is this realignment of three divisions and some are perceiving this as a weakening on the part of MSFT. There is definitely a certain mystery and uncertainty involved in this most recent announcement although it seems to be an extension of a prior path they had embarked on. JFD
