Sarge, With all due respect...re FGH. What they did yesterday ain't what investors are buying. It's what they gonna do tmw that counts. And the market is saying that they don't think FGH is going to do much... I disagree, but I don't give a ring tail tooter hoot about book value and such. All that nice equipment, assets, equity and such don't mean a thing if it sits there and rots. Can the company employ those assets to make money? Sure, they have in the past...but that's history - Chinese - Long Gone.

I want to know where is the business (orders) and will the margins be there. That is all that matters. The Street says no, you and me say yes. We'll see who is right.

SargeK et al RE: FGH

I got less respect than Rodney Dangerfield on my comments on FGH earlier...

Quite frankly when analyst report after analyst report addressed the glut of rigs and that the dayrates required before the economics of newbuilds in deepwater would make sense would not occur untill maybe mid - 2001; that was all I needed to hear.

hell this market won't wait one more qtr on E&P's who are going to improve cash flow & earnings 50% over last year with $25 Oil - let alone wait untill mid 2001 untill the economics of deepwater rig construction make financial sense again ???

Seemed to make sense to me. - Just wish I would have taken that "rent vs. own" commentary by Dain Rauscher a little more serious. Ohhh well; if this "IS" the E&P bottom - I own it...

Is BHI still in business <g>. Adding some here at 21. This could be a double sometime in 2000.

Sarge

ROFLMAO!!! Jeez, that comment was completely tongue-in-cheek! Unfortunately, you were so busy sending up FGH smoke signals that you couldn't even tell. ;-)

In the future, try not to take everything that I say so seriously, OK?

In the meantime... breathe.... breathe... breeeeaaaaaattttthhhhheeee.... <vbg>

Or else have your Texus boys stuff us wee little piggies with Cotton on Y2K. ;-)

All the best,

Razor

PS - Don't feel bad. I've been known to pick on Slider, Bull, Doug, Cliffie, and even myself on occasion, so you're not alone. ;-)
