I remember ASTeX. We were going to buy an ozone generator from them. They had stopped by with this fellow who was starting a business to do large area pulsed laser deposition (Epion, I think). Impressive group. Here's their diamond site: astex.com I don't think anyone ever got a process down that produced device quality diamond at a reasonable cost but I may be wrong. I think we are going to have to have another breakthrough to make this viable as a substrate. But what a substrate. A dielectric constant of 5.7, low thermal expansion and a thermal conductivity second to none. JF
