I didn't rebut point by point because I know this never happened. Who knows what else was ginned up? JEWISH ANTI-BUCHANAN PROTESTORS BEATEN AND KICKED AT CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF RALLY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE Three members of the Coalition for Jewish Concerns-Amcha demonstrating against Pat Buchanan's anti-Semitism and bigotry were beaten, kicked and thrown down stairs by Buchanan security guards and campaign workers in Manchester NH this morning. The three, rabbinical student David Kalb, and college students Moshe Maoz and Ronn Torossian were part of a CJC-Amcha group who jumped on the stage as Buchanan was announcing his intention to run for President on the Republican ticket in 1996. Carrying signs saying, "Pat = Duke Without the Sheets" and "Buchanan is a racist" the three were shoved, pushed to the ground and beaten while Buchanan looked on. Even after it was established that the CJC-Amcha activists were unarmed, Buchanan guards pushed and dragged the students down three flights of stairs and outside to the parking lot of the building where they continued to beat, punch and kick the three until Manchester police officers intervened and threatened to arrest Buchanan's campaign director. Kalb, Torrosian and Maoz sustained bruises, scratches, a black eye and ripped clothing in the attack. FAIR has a strong bias, I'm surprised you take them so seriously. I wasn't in Manchester for the kick-off rally, but I got there shortly after. I never heard anything about this. There is no such thing as a "Buchanan security guard." I don't doubt some type of altercation occurred. Regarding Jewish protesters, this is what I observed; There were three guys who were posted at the front door of his headquarters. I tried talking with them, only one acknowledged my presence. He turned out to be either a Rabbi or a Rabbinical student, I can't remember now, and we had quite a nice long chat. The incident wasn't mentioned by him, but if it was as bad as FAIR describes I assure you it would have come up. We had a very frank discussion. One of the other guys was a beefy fellow and occasionally he would post himself about three feet in front of the door. I think he wanted people to brush against him, it was very provocative behavior. I also had lengthy discussions with David Corn, Matt Cooper, and Rick Hertzberg and they never mentioned it. At one of the rallies I recall a guy from a group called Expose the Right was waving a placard and chanting something. When he noticed TV cameras he suddenly dove to the ground and began hollering as if someone had pushed him down. There was nobody near the guy! You have to admire their theatrical instincts. It's gotten to the point with me that I disbelieve most of what a Buchanan detractor says now. Which arch-fiend was it who said "If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes reality"? I think that's where we are with this business now. Peace
