Amy is probably referring to, among other things, the fact that AMD's AthWIPE burns twice as much POWER as Intel's Coppermine at the same frequency.

Hence, Intel's Coppermine is getting all the prestige notebook design-wins.

And AMD's AthWIPE is getting ZERO notebook design wins.

Thanks for your post. In answer to your question, Intel is set up to do large volume manufacturing and this means the yield requirements (the important factors to high-volume manufacturing) create design requirements which AMD doesn't necessarily have. Since I am not an engineer, others can say this better than me, i.e.
