Heinz, milk in NYC went from $1.35 to $2 in 3-4 years. Rents are growing around 7% to 10% a year, loaf of bread from $1.80 to 2.40 and the list goes on.

Yes we do not have inflation in the US but that does not buy me milk or bread neither pays for the rent.

HB old boy,

Didn't you know? Bill Gates a long time ago (I think it was around 1984) got them to multiply the resulting inflation rate with inflation in computer prices... the one I am using now is about 1/3 the price of what I paid for it and the ones now are twice the power. So you have to reduce that cost by 1/2 again or 1/2 x 1/3 = 1/6.

I figger 20% inflation x 1/6 is around what is being reported...

<ggg>

Bill

Wage increase to 8 bucks an hour plus signing bonus isn't enough to retain a good elf this season. -NPR
