spider, what does this mean? Interactive Distribution Sets Digital Island Apart NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Interactive distribution is what separates Digital Island Inc. (ISLD) from network services companies, according to Chief Executive Ruann Ernst. In a CNBC interview Wednesday, Ernst said Digital's network services allow end users "a round-trip experience" because they complete a full transaction. The services also allow users to operate on the Internet without the limitations of text-only documents, she said. "It will support media, audio and video uses of rich user content." The San Francisco company formed an alliance Wednesday with Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW) and Inktomi Corp. (INKT). Also Wednesday, it formed an alliance with SRI International.
