T2,

One last thing. For those companies that deliver earnings on the calendar quarter basis, the quiet period is rapidly approaching for Q4 (or this Quarter that ends in December).

That means that anyone who's an insider at a company (and KK certainly is....) has very few days left before they have to NOT trade. So this is the time you see mostly selling, before the 45 day (if not longer) lockup on any stock or option activity.

I think the cutoff for the quiet period is that no trading can be done 2 weeks before the end of the quarter, and then you can resume trading 48 hours after you announce your earnings.

I expect slightly more selling all over the range of stocks I hold for ALL normal reasons. Holidays, taxes, whatever...in the next week, for many executives. Then......they're shut down for a little while.

Then....you'll see more selling after each company's earnings because of the some of the same reasons AND it's a new tax year!

Steve

t2, I think that you are correct about a 2 week run-up into split. However, I think that there will be a prior run-up leading up to the share-holders meeting next week for split approval. I still think there is some weight to the 3-1 split rumor.
