Both enabled and disabled host adapter termination options end in a BSOD during bootup when the Jaz is connected. Disconnect the Jaz and all is ok.

I am not aware of any SCSI diagnostic utilities. I have used Adaptec Easy SCSI and do not recall any diagnostic application (that does not mean there is not one). It has a format utility and a SCSI interrogator ..ie what devices are on the chain and maybe some options to configure the devices...eject CDs etc.

Maybe the SCSI is set up correctly and the conflict is with the Jaz drive and NT? Perhaps you have to change the SCSI settings for the JAZ ID in the SCSI bios. ( I assume the Jaz is set to a different ID than all of the other SCSI devices.)

Are all of the SCSI devices seen by the controller as verified during the boot process? The BSOD comes after this boot sequence so you should get some indication as to the ability of the SCSI controller to recognize the device.

I believe the Adaptec SCSI bios has an option to recognize external devices a la the JAZ as harddrives or removables. If so you may want to alter this setting...there are several other settings that may need to be altered as well.

Too bad you do not have an extra SCSI device kicking around that could be substituted for the JAZ to test the termination issues wrt the entire setup.

Cabling is a common issue with SCSI..length and poor cables. However my guess is that is not your problem.
