Interesting. I wonder if an enterprising AG somewhere will pick up on this.

JMHO.

hey jon,

re: "I would keep calling them until you find someone with the real answer"

well, i found that special someone. <g3>

you may recall that i said back on 11/22 ( #reply-12055809 ) that i was not satisfied with dell's response that the snaprestore program was no longer included as part of their software bundle, and that i was, essentially, sol.

it took about 5 emails from me to various individuals at dell until i finally received the reply today that i wanted all along...

"The Snap Restore software is being sent to you via Airborne Express. The package should arrive within 2 business days. If it is not received within that time frame, please contact us. Please keep in mind that the Snap Restore was designed to be factory installed on our systems and may not run correctly if it is manually installed. However, you should be able to install the program by doing the following..."

they then go into special install instructions.

so i am a happy man. it took 15 days and a healthy amount of perseverance and the knowledge that what i was asking for all along was reasonable. i'm looking forward to having airborne express knock on my door in 2 days, then trying out the software, which sounds very, very cool.

just thought you'd like to know since you devoted time and energy to helping me with this awhile back. thanks again.

:)
